Oh, hey! I am officially a blogger. It took a lot of time to work up to creating this thing. I've been going to for a long while now, but I just really didn't want to get into it. A couple of my friends have recently acquired a blog, so I suppose I've been motivated. Now keep in mind, this will not be very interesting. I am not an exciting person when it comes down to it. I like to keep my life, well.. simple like the title of my blog. There's another story behind that, but I'll get into that later. First off, I want to talk about ME!!
What am I like, you ask? Haha, let's see. I've lived in Utah forever, my whole life belongs to this wonderful place I've grown up in. (I hate writing about myself). I had a wonderful childhood here, a perfect enviornment to be a kid. I definitely don't plan to live here forever though. You see, I need change in my life. Diversity is something I yearn for, to be around people who see the world in a different way. Anyway, I have no brothers or sisters. Just a dog, a strange little dog. Oh, and a cat. My family is wonderful though. I couldn't ask for better people to be around...all the time. Haha, next, I would like to talk about my friends...
Where to begin... I have remarkable friends. I wouldn't be where I am today without them. I feel like they know everything about me. We are all exactly the same, yet entirely different. Theses people have names, which consist of Jaclyn, Kim, Taylor, and Stephanie. We are usually always together. Until recently, college started, one moved away, sometimes it kind of feels like we all moved away though. Life has gotten busy, but I have no doubt that we will always stick together.
Not long ago, (9 months ago) I got a job as a CNA in an assisted living center for seniors. And let me tell you, it has been the most amazing experience. (This is where the title of the blog comes into play) I have learned so much from these people that live at my work. I have so much love and compassion for them all. I was also very lucky to make some friends while working here. Kate, Paris, and Cali have become very very good friends of mine. We can relate to each other SO much. They're fantastic!
Some of the things I have witnessed at work, have really changed my outlook on life. I feel like I appreciate life so much more. We have a section in the building for Alzheimer's patients. Oh boy, they are THE most hilarious people. We have to make up stories just to make them happy, they're always trying to escape, and it's very rare that what they're talking about makes any sense. One lady, who everyone is truly in love with because of her priceless behavior, once told someone he was "as simple as a prune cake". That line has just stuck with me. The craziness of this job is a part of my life now, that I really don't think I could live without.
I have more to talk about, but we can save that for another day.
Cheers.
Mak
